The Shamanic Worlds

An exploration of the different shamanic realms, the meaning and significance of different environments (such as the sea, forests, mountains, the sky, and so on) and the healing gifts and teachings of the various beings that live in them. The course draws together various elements from previous courses, including “Exploring the Realms”, “Plant Spirit Medicine”, “The Stone People”, “Bird Shamanism”, “Sea Shamanism” and “Shamanism and Healthy Boundaries”.

In eight parts, although the weekends can also be taken individually.

Dates. 2020: June 20+21, August 15+16, October 10+11, November 28+29 . 2021: January 23+24, March 6+7, May 22+23, July 17+18.

Venue. Llandudno, North Wales.

Tutors. Two tutors from Chris Holt, Jayne Birkett, Marie Edwards, and Paul Connery on each weekend, plus additional teaching from Paul Francis.

A unique series of themed weekends. Each weekend will explore three areas:

  1. One of the Peoples – either the Stone People, the Plant People, the Standing People (Trees), the Animal People, or us – the Human People.
  2. One of the shamanic realms – either the lower-world, the upper-world or the middle-world.
  3. An environment and its shamanic meaning, significance, teaching and healing gifts – either land, sea, shoreline, fire, sky, or light and sound.

Taken together, the weekends provide a comprehensive exploration of the shamanic worlds. This makes the course ideal for those who are relatively new to shamanism. For more experienced practitioners the course offers the opportunity to refresh and consolidate their knowledge, plus the opportunity to fill any gaps in their learning by picking out specific weekends if they wish. For example, for people who missed the “Stone People” course, weekend 1 covers the main Stone People theory. For people who missed “Plant Spirit Medicine”, weekend 3 covers the main Plant People knowledge. Weekends 3 and 6 cover the main issues in doing middle-world work, weekends 2 and 5 cover upper-world work, weekend 5 covers Bird Medicine, weekends 7 and 8 Sea Shamanism, and so on. Details of each weekend are below.

Weekend 1: grounding and connection to the Earth. June 20+21 2020.

Weekend 2: connecting to Spirit. August 15+16 2020.

Weekend 3: healthy boundaries and protection. October 10+11 2020.

Weekend 4: rooted in the Earth, reaching for the Sky. December 5+6 2020.

Weekend 5: transcendence, healthy detachment and perspective. January 23+24 2021.

Weekend 6: personal power and transformation. March 6+7 2021.

Weekend 7: healthy attachment and returning to source. May 22+23 2021.

Weekend 8: bringing the unconscious into consciousness. July 17+18 2021.
