The Introduction to Shamanism Days
These one-day workshops run at various times in the year. The day is experiential, and cover the basics of shamanic practice. People usually find them an eye-opening experience that opens a rich and amazing world of possibilities. Would you be interested in organising an Introductory Day in your area? If so, here how this might work for both of us...
- How it happens. You just need to contact me to see if we can sort out a date for the day. Usually this is a Saturday or Sunday, but weekdays are possible too. You also need to have some idea of a venue in mind. The venue needs to be big enough for at least ten people (more is better), and it needs to be quiet and private. We need quiet in order to not be distracted or disturbed while doing the work, but also, the drumming can be noisy so we need to be somewhere where we will not disturb other people.
- What you get for doing it. You get a free place on the Intro day, plus a free place on the next Intermediate, Advanced or Practitioner weekend of your choice. - that is a total of £155 worth of free training. That is dependant on getting enough bookings for the day to run. The number of people we need depends on the cost of the venue, plus other factors such as my travel costs etc. But generally a course needs a minimum of eight paying people to be viable. So you need to think about whether or not you think you could get this many people.
- What I do. I will: book the venue (I take the risk with the deposit); handle the bookings; promote the course on the website and with internet advertising; produce posters and fliers.
- What you need to do. You need to drum up the people in your area. Generally, the only courses that run are where the local organiser puts some actual work in promoting the day. That means, telling friends and acquaintances who may be interested, going around putting up posters and fliers in your area, and sending info to local groups and individuals in your area (yoga classes, meditation groups, therapists etc).
