The Three Ravens College of Therapeutic Shamanism.
The Shamanic Worlds
A Therapeutic Shamanism In-Depth Course
An exploration of the different shamanic realms, the meaning and significance of different environments (such as the sea, forests, mountains, the sky, and so on) and the healing gifts and teachings of the various beings that live in them. The course draws together various elements from previous courses, including “Exploring the Realms”, “Plant Spirit Medicine”, “The Stone People”, “Bird Shamanism”, “Sea Shamanism” and “Shamanism and Healthy Boundaries”.
A rolling course of eight eight online modules. People can join the course at any point, and opt to just do single modules too.
Content. A unique series of themed modules. Each module will explore three areas:
Taken together, the modules provide a comprehensive exploration of the shamanic worlds. This makes the course ideal for those who are relatively new to shamanism. For more experienced practitioners the course offers the opportunity to refresh and consolidate their knowledge, plus the opportunity to fill any gaps in their learning by picking out specific modules if they wish. For example, for people who missed the “Stone People” course, module 1 covers the main Stone People theory. For people who missed “Plant Spirit Medicine”, module3 covers the main Plant People knowledge. Modules 3 and 6 cover the main issues in doing middle-world work, Modules 2 and 5 cover upper-world work, module 5 covers Bird Medicine, module 7 and 8 Sea Shamanism, and so on. Details of each module are below.
Module 1: grounding and connection to the Earth.
Module 2: connecting to Spirit.
Module 3: healthy boundaries and protection.
Module 4: rooted in the Earth, reaching for the Sky.
Module 5: transcendence, healthy detachment and perspective.
Module 6: personal power and transformation.
Module 7: healthy attachment and returning to source.
Module 8: bringing the unconscious into consciousness.
Structure. Each module consists of 3 Sunday meetings, mostly at weekly intervals, then with a gap of several weeks before the next module starts. Each online meeting is between 4 to 5 hours long and consists of two sessions with a lunch break in the middle. The meetings start at 10 am on Sundays, meaning we finish sometime between 2.30 pm and 3 pm (3 pm at the latest).
The current dates are (all Sundays):-
Module 1: November 7, 14, 21
Module 2: Jan 9, 16, 23
Module 3: Feb 27, March 6, 13
Module 4: May 8, 15, 22
Module 5: July 3, 10, 17
Module 6: Aug 21, Sept 4, 11
Module 7: Nov 6, 13, 20
Module 8: Jan 8, 15, 22
Cost. The cost is £130 per module. Due to their more psychotherapeutic and in-depth nature, we take fewer students onto the In-Depth courses. Also, unlike the other courses which are double-staffed, the In-Depth courses need to be triple-staffed at times. We also provide more pre-recorded (and other) teaching material, outside of the online sessions, than we do with the other courses. All of these factors make the In-Depth courses more expensive to be viable. However, at the Three Ravens college our ethos is always to try and keep the courses as low-cost and affordable as we possibly can and the cost is considerably cheaper than almost all comparable courses.
The deposit to secure a place is a £30 per module that you book on. The balancing payment of £100 for each module then becomes payable (and non-refundable) 4 weeks before the module starts. Payment of the balances can be spread over monthly instalments by arrangement.
To book. To be accepted on the In-Depth courses you must have done the Three Ravens First-Step course, a minimum of two of the Next-Step courses, and preferably at least one of the Further-Steps courses. There are no exceptions to this. Please note that meeting this requirement alone does not guarantee one a place on the course though. The psychological and interpersonal nature of the In-Depth courses means that they are not suitable for everyone, and that admission onto them needs to be selective. If you are interested though and wish to be considered, contact Paul Francis firstname.lastname@example.org
