The Intermediate Course:
Shamanic Counselling and Working in Altered States
The Intermediate Course consists of one (non-residential) weekend. To do it you need to have attended one of the Introductory Days with myself, or done an equivalent course with another trainer in Core Shamanism. Attendance on an Intermediate Course allows you to apply for any the Advanced Courses and for the Practitioner Training.
The course covers the core skills of Therapeutic Shamanism. It explores how traditional core shamanic skills overlap with counselling and psychotherapy. On the course we explore...
- Issues about the use of power in shamanic work: how to work with others in ways that do not ‘take over’, interpret or dis-empower, but which instead empower and enable.
- Explore ways of moving more freely between ordinary and shamanic realities, and how to have one foot in this world and one in the 'other'.How to enter into another’s journey, and be a companion and/or assistant in their exploration.
- How to have healthy boundaries; issues of safety and protection.
