Course Booking Terms and Conditions

1. Mental Health

    1. Shamanic work can be of great benefit with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. However, shamanic work does require a reasonable degree of mental robustness and groundedness, and emotional resilience. As such, like meditation and other similar practices, it can be contra-indicated in mental health issues such as psychosis, mania, severe depression, or dissociative disorders. Given this, if you have any mental health issues (current or historical) which you feel may impact on your ability to journey safely, then you must discuss this with us prior to booking on the course. Please contact us to do this. Any discussion will, of course, be treated confidentially.

2. Fees, Cancellations and Refunds

    1. You must be fully paid-up to attend an online meeting – you will not be admitted to the meeting if you are not.

    2. Our receiving your course fees marks the start of the agreement between us. Under consumer rights, you then have 14 days to withdraw from the course and receive a refund if you wish.

      1. If you notify us you wish to withdraw from the course within this 14-day period, and the course has not started within this period, then you are entitled to a refund in full minus a 15% admin charge.

      2. If you notify us you wish to withdraw from the course within this 14-day period, and the course has started within this period, then you are entitled to a refund in full minus a 20% admin charge and minus the fees for the proportion of the course that you have attended.

      3. If you notify us you wish to withdraw from the course after this 14-day period, then any fees paid by you are non-refundable and non-transferable (so please don’t ask!).

    3. If you miss a session, the fees for that session are still due and will not be refunded. Nor will they be transferable to other courses (so again, please don’t ask!).

    4. We reserve the right to withdraw a student’s place on a course at any point. If we do withdraw your place on a course, or if we cancel a course, we will refund any fees paid for sessions that you have not yet attended. Any sessions you have already attended though will not be refunded to you.

3. Accessing Online Course Information and Meetings

    1. When communicating with all the students on a course, and for sharing things like course information, links to access the online meetings, teaching resources and so on, we use an online system called Groups.io. After registering for a course, before it starts you will receive an invite to that course’s Groups.io. To access the course you must join this, and in signing up for a course you are agreeing to this.

    2. This is an online course. To be able to participate in it you will need:

      1. An internet-enabled device. Ideally something with a decent-sized screen such as a computer, laptop, or tablet, but a smart-phone will work if that is all you have. The device needs a camera or webcam, speakers, and a microphone, either built-in or attached.

      2. A decent internet-connection.

      3. We use Zoom for the online sessions. If you do not have Zoom Meetings installed on your device, then you will need to do so.

4. Recordings

    1. The online sessions may be recorded by the tutors. In signing up to the courses you are consenting to this. Recordings will be available to:

    2. The college’s core team, to help us learn and develop as teachers and as a team.

    3. Students on the course, in case they miss a meeting and want to catch up, or wish to review the material again. However, this at the course tutors’ discretion and as a favour, and not to be expected. and only available for a short period of time after which they will be deleted. They will usually only be of theory and question-and-answer sessions, not of things like group discussions, journeys, or other exercises. If recordings are made available to students, they will be available only for the duration of the course and then for a short period of time afterwards (usually for a additional month after the course ends).

    4. Students on other courses, but in this case, only recordings that show the tutors teaching but do not show any students (e.g., recordings of a tutor giving a talk).

    5. Recordings are stored on Vimeo, are password protected, are not downloadable, and are not visible to the public. stored securely and are deleted when we are finished with them. They will be (so not visible to the public),

    6. Recordings remain the property of the college and students must not share them with anyone else, for reasons of both copyright and confidentiality.

    7. To ensure that the meetings are confidential and safe spaces, students must not make their own recordings of meetings under any circumstances, audio or otherwise.

5. Your Information

    1. For administration and teaching purposes, your booking information, and any other information you provide us with, will be available to all the college’s core team. In booking on a course with us you are giving your consent to this. Your privacy is important to us though, and so we take measures to store all such information securely and will never pass this information on to anyone else without your explicit and prior consent.
