Shamanic work can be of great benefit with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. However, shamanic work does require a reasonable degree of mental robustness and groundedness, and emotional resilience. As such, like meditation and other similar practices, it can be contra-indicated in mental health issues such as psychosis, mania, severe depression, or dissociative disorders. Given this, if you have any mental health issues (current or historical) which you feel may impact on your ability to journey safely, then you must discuss this with us prior to booking on the course. Please contact us to do this. Any discussion will, of course, be treated confidentially.
You must be fully paid-up to attend an online meeting – you will not be admitted to the meeting if you are not.
Our receiving your course fees marks the start of the agreement between us. Under consumer rights, you then have 14 days to withdraw from the course and receive a refund if you wish.
If you notify us you wish to withdraw from the course within this 14-day period, and the course has not started within this period, then you are entitled to a refund in full minus a 15% admin charge.
If you notify us you wish to withdraw from the course within this 14-day period, and the course has started within this period, then you are entitled to a refund in full minus a 20% admin charge and minus the fees for the proportion of the course that you have attended.
If you notify us you wish to withdraw from the course after this 14-day period, then any fees paid by you are non-refundable and non-transferable (so please don’t ask!).
If you miss a session, the fees for that session are still due and will not be refunded. Nor will they be transferable to other courses (so again, please don’t ask!).
We reserve the right to withdraw a student’s place on a course at any point. If we do withdraw your place on a course, or if we cancel a course, we will refund any fees paid for sessions that you have not yet attended. Any sessions you have already attended though will not be refunded to you.
When communicating with all the students on a course, and for sharing things like course information, links to access the online meetings, teaching resources and so on, we use an online system called Groups.io. After registering for a course, before it starts you will receive an invite to that course’s Groups.io. To access the course you must join this, and in signing up for a course you are agreeing to this.
This is an online course. To be able to participate in it you will need:
An internet-enabled device. Ideally something with a decent-sized screen such as a computer, laptop, or tablet, but a smart-phone will work if that is all you have. The device needs a camera or webcam, speakers, and a microphone, either built-in or attached.
A decent internet-connection.
We use Zoom for the online sessions. If you do not have Zoom Meetings installed on your device, then you will need to do so.
We usually record parts of the online sessions (usually, the theory and Q&A sessions, but not the breakout rooms). In signing up to the courses, you are consenting to this.
The recordings may sometimes be made available to students from other courses (the recordings are generally set to only record the “active speaker” though, and so, if you would rather not appear on the recordings visually, when asking questions during a session you can do so by typing rather than voice).
We generally make the recordings available to students a few days after the online session and they will usually remain available to students after the course has ended. Access to the recordings is not a right though, but at the tutors’ discretion.Recordings remain the property of the college and, for reasons of both copyright and confidentiality, students must not share them with anyone else. They are available to watch online (currently, via Vimeo) but are not downloadable and are password protected (so not visible to the public).
To ensure that the meetings are confidential and safe spaces, students must not make their own recordings of meetings under any circumstances, audio or otherwise.
For administration and teaching purposes, your booking information, and any other information you provide us with, will be available to all the college’s core team. In booking on a course with us you are giving your consent to this. Your privacy is important to us though, and so we take measures to store all such information securely and will never pass this information on to anyone else without your consent.
We reserve the right to modify this Terms & Conditions policy at any time. If we decide to change our Terms & Conditions, we will post the updates here.
If you have any questions regarding the Terms & Conditions, please contact us using our contact form.
